Poor kitty and the doggie door
Ainsley continues to terrorize the cat. Stella thought she was clever and jumped up on the chair but Ainsley crawled her way under the chair and proceeded to pull Stella's tail. Ainsley's look on the second picture lets you know that she knows exactly what she's doing...
Ainsley also discovered the doggie door today too. No attempts to go out it but she was quite fascinated with how the door flaps back and forth. Thank goodness Dave has the pool fence in already!

Baby-proofing the house
We spent Sunday putting in outlet covers, installing cabinet locks and picking out baby gates for the stairs. This place is going to be Fort Knox when we get through with it.
Ainsley has been crawling all around the house and has the red knees to prove it. She is very fascinated by Stella and will not leave the cat alone. We are working on "pet the kitty cat" not "pull out handfuls of the kitty cat's tail". It's a work in progress.
By the way, Ainsley now has her other bottom tooth (the right side) almost fully in now.
Here are some pictures of Ainsley helping Daddy put in some cabinet locks.

She MOVES!!!!
Well, it's finally happened. Ainsley has grown tired of her sedentary lifestyle - always laying around, sitting up in one place and being carried from car seat to high chair to crib. This morning, she decided to do something about it.
With a bit of determination (and a very "grabbable" cat as a target), she put one knee in front of the other, then one hand in front of the other, and motivated herself across the floor. At times, she looked a bit like a clumsy AT-AT, falling onto her side as if a deft snow speeder pilot wrapped his trip wire around her legs.

Ainsley's 6 month checkup...at 7 months
Ainsley had her six month checkup today. She's 16lbs 6oz (48th percentile) and 28 inches (95th percentile) . The doctor is very happy with her growth and says that she looks great. We've got the go-ahead to try more fruits and veggies and even some meats! She got 4 shots today and one oral vaccination and handled them all with just a few tears that disappeared as soon as Dave could pick her up. She's such a little trooper!
She's getting her left bottom tooth in and it's almost fully in...doctor says in the next day or so it will stop bothering her. Right now that's the only tooth that's coming in. She's been a little fussy but all in all she's been great with her first tooth.
Here are some pictures from today.

Ainsley's first football game!
The three of us went to see the Cardinals handily beat the Bills today. Ainsley had a great time and the noise didn't seem to bother her. We even bought her an Edge jersey so she could fit in. My next project is to find a matching bow for her hair so people stop calling her a boy...
The last picture is the refection of her in the mirror in her carseat. All the cheering she did for the Cards wore her out!

Ainsley's 4 month doctor appointment
We took Ainsley to her 4 month doctor appointment this morning and we are very happy to report that she is doing very well! The doc was very happy with her height and weight as well as with her head control.
She's now in the 70th percentile for weight (up from the 50th percentile), the 90th percentile for height (down from the 95th percentile) and the 47th percentile for head circumference (up from the 25th percentile).
The doctor thinks that she has a while before she gets her first tooth - even though she's been drooling like a champ. He's given us the go-ahead for giving her rice cereal. We put her high-chair together today so we are ready to go for the first feeding tomorrow! We can't wait to see her facial expression when she tries it! He said once she gets comfortable with being spoon fed we can start giving her vegetables. The fun is just beginning!
Ainsley got 4 shots today and a oral vaccination and was a trooper...not a very happy trooper but a trooper none the less.
Here are some recent pictures...
